A new Critical Role campaign is on the way from D&D publishers

Wizards of the Coast will publish Critical Role’s first full-length Dungeons & Dragons campaign book.

Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep will be set in the world of Exandria and tie into previous Critical Role campaigns. The game is co-designed by series creator Matthew Mercer. Along with Mercer in the role of designer, Wizards’ lead story designer Chris Perkins will contribute to the project as well.

In Call of the Netherdeep, players will start at level 3 in Ank’Harel, a "glistening oasis-city" on the continent of Marquet, which also hosts the troupe’s third full campaign set to debut on October 21. It will then voyage into the Netherdeep, an area described as being a cross between the Far Realm and the deep sea.

The official description states:
“Above it all, the red moon of Ruidus watches, twisting the fates of those who have the power to shape the course of history. Fans will discover that the greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed, a mighty champion of the gods that has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria for eons, with his name and heroic deeds forgotten. Languishing in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him.”

The book includes seven chapters detailing new creatures and magic items. There will also be a rival group of non-player characters, which will present challenges for Dungeon Masters and players alike.

Wizards of the Coast will publish the book on March 15, 2022.
